Once called Contrologly, Pilates is a SYSTEM of safe and effective low impact exercises created by Joseph Pilates that target the entire body as a whole. It has been described by Pilates himself as "an ideal system to transform the body into a perfect instrument of will". With an emphasis on core strength(abs), exercises challenge you differently from the inside out, strengthening the intrinsic muscles that support the spine(stabilizers), with simultaneous spinal and limb stretching.
